Behind the old brick wall, so gray, Where ivy climbed in disarray, Lived secrets whispered on the breeze, Amongst the rustling, leafy trees. Emily, with eyes so keen, Found a hidden door, unseen, A tiny latch, a dusty key, "What wonders wait," thought she! A creaking hinge, a grassy path, A robin chirped, then took a bath In a puddle, clear and bright, Leading Emily into the light. The Secret Garden, there it lay, Where tangled weeds held wicked sway. But Robin knew a magic song, To wake the flowers, slumbering long. Emily, with tiny spade, Pulled weeds and gently, bravely, made Space for blossoms, red and blue, While Robin sang, "They're waking through!" The flowers stretched, in sleepy bliss, Unfurling petals for a kiss Of sunshine, warm upon their face, A joyful bloom in that hidden place. And as the days began to turn, The garden glowed, a vibrant burn Of colours bold, a fragrant scent, A happy, glorious testament! The secret bloomed for all to see, No longer hidden, wild, and free, But bright and bold, a shining star, Right behind that old brick wall, so far!
Snow falls softly, a whisper in the air, Transforming the world to a silvery lair. Trees wear white coats, sparkling and grand, Welcome to winter, a magical land! A boy in bright blue, with cheeks rosy red, Steps out in the snow, adventure ahead! He gathers a snowball, round and so tight, Ready to build, with all of his might. He rolls it and pushes, it grows big and round, The biggest snowman ever found! With coal for the eyes, and a carrot for nose, A smiling snowman, from his head to his toes. Then, waddle waddle, a penguin appears, With a scarf striped in purple, defying all fears! He'd flown from the South, on a gust of the breeze, "Let's play in the snow!" he squawks with such ease. The boy and the penguin, now friends tried and true, Throw snowballs at the snowman, shiny and new. They laugh and they tumble, in drifts soft and deep, Secrets the snow whispers, promises to keep. They make snow angels, with wings wide and bright, Sparkling like diamonds in the winter sunlight. The snowman stands watching, a smile on his face, Content in this wintery, wonderful place. As twilight descends, and stars start to gleam, They all sit together, lost in a snowy dream. The boy, penguin, snowman, a happy, warm three, In a winter wonderland, happy and free!
Upon a beach of golden sand, Where ocean waves did softly land, A tiny crab, with eyes so bright, Was searching for a home, just right. He scuttled 'round, a hurried dash, Beneath the sun's warm, golden splash, Looking left, and looking right, For a cozy shell, a welcoming sight. Then swooping down, a greedy gull, With feathers white and loud “Caw-cull!” He spied the crab, a tasty treat, And planned a snatch, oh what a feat! "That shell you seek, it shines so grand, Would look much better in my hand!" The seagull cried, with beady eyes, As he tried to seize the crab's small prize. The crab, so quick, began to flee, Toward a pile beneath a tree, Of shells abandoned, smooth and round, Scattered carelessly on the ground. He peeked inside a conch so wide, But it was far too dark to hide. He checked a scallop, pearly white, But it was much too small and tight. Then, at the bottom of the heap, A perfect shell, no longer deep, But roomy, strong, and colored blue, The crab cried, "This one will surely do!" He slipped inside, a perfect fit, Away from gull and sandy grit. The seagull cried, "Oh, what a shame!" As the crab found comfort in his brand new home!
The Gentle Breeze A golden ocean, a waving sight, A wheat field basking in the sun's warm light. The Wind, a whisper, then a joyful gust, Arrived to play, with happy, hopeful trust. "Hello!" it called, to stalks so tall and grand, "Let's dance together, hand in grassy hand!" The Wheat, so sleepy, stretched and gave a yawn, Then bowed its head, as golden day was born. The Wind blew softly, then with bolder sweep, The Wheat began to dance in slumber deep. It swayed and rippled, like a golden sea, A dizzy, dancing, happy jubilee! The Sun peeked down, with rays of golden hue, "What lovely dancing, what a joyful view!" It smiled so brightly, warming all below, As Wheat and Wind continued in their flow. The Wind grew tired, its playful dance complete, It sighed a whisper, soft and oh so sweet. The Wheat stood still, its dancing day now done, Basking peacefully beneath the golden sun.
In a tent striped red and white, so grand, Where sawdust danced upon the land, The Silliest Clown, with shoes so wide, Was ready for a circus ride! He bounced and bowed, a joyful sight, Then tripped, WHOOPS! In the fading light! He landed flat, a comical heap, The giggles started, soft and deep! The Kids all gasped, then eyes grew wide, As colourful balloons, he tried To juggle high, but oh, what fun! They popped and scattered, one by one! He crossed his eyes, he wiggled his nose, He stuck out his tongue, from head to toes! He made a face so terribly grim, It looked like a grumpy, soggy swim! He honked his nose with a rubber beep, Then walked on his hands, oh so steep! He squawked like a chicken, he mooed like a cow, And tripped on his feet, but didn't know how! The Kids all roared, with happy glee, "The Silliest Clown is the best," you see! They clapped their hands and stomped their feet, His silly show, oh so complete! For though he tumbled, fumbled, and fell, His funny faces worked their spell. He brought them laughter, pure and true, The Silliest Clown, we all love you!
Lily felt lonely, beneath the bright sun, Near the swing set, no playmates, not one. Rusty red chains on a seat made of blue, Just swaying gently, with nothing to do. Then stomping feet, a happy bark too, Mark came running, with his dog, trusty and true! "Lily," he shouted, "Why the long face? Let's swing together, and brighten this place!" His dog, a brown terrier, with ears perky and tall, Wagged his tail wildly, wanting to join all. "Want to play, Lily? Give it a try!" Mark grinned widely, beneath the blue sky. He pushed her gently, up, up so high, She giggled and laughed, reaching for the sky. The terrier barked, with happy delight, As Lily and Mark swung with all of their might. Higher and higher, they soared through the air, Leaving behind worries and any despair. Mark took his turn, and Lily pushed hard, Laughter erupted, like a joyful award. The sun slowly dipped, painting skies shades of rose, The terrier yawned, near the blossoming rose. "One last swing, Lily?" Mark said with a sigh, But really, they both wanted to swing to the sky! They swung and they swung, until the light was all gone, Two happy friends, 'til the break of the dawn. They swung all day long, a friendship so true, Lily and Mark, and their terrier too!
A Starry Night: The Flying Carpet Ride Young Ali, in his dusty room, Found a carpet, chased by gloom. With tassels frayed and colors bright, It hummed a tune in pale moonlight. A princess, hidden from the King, Slipped through the window, heard it sing. "Oh, Carpet, Carpet, take us high, Above the world, into the sky!" The carpet shivered, then unfurled, And soared above the sleeping world. A starry night, a velvet scene, Diamonds scattered, gold and green. Past Luna's smile, they softly flew, Through clouds of cotton, soft and new. They danced with comets, streaking fast, A cosmic waltz that forever passed. They tickled nebulae, pink and blue, And whispered secrets to the moon's crew. They saw a dragon, made of light, That winked at them with all its might. Then back to Earth, the carpet swayed, Before the dawn, the stars all fade. With sleepy yawns and hearts aglow, They landed softly, down below. The carpet folded, still and deep, Holding stories, secrets to keep. Ali and Princess, eyes so wide, Returned with tales of their starry ride.
In the heart of the savanna, sun ablaze, Where baobab trees stood in a golden haze, Lived Ellie the elephant, a gentle soul, Whose big, flappy ears made her heart feel a hole. Zebra zoomed by, with stripes black and white, Giraffe stretched her neck to impossible height. Ellie sighed low, "Oh, my ears are so grand! The biggest in Africa, I can't understand!" One sweltering day, a fire took hold, Burning the grasses, brave stories told. "Help!" cried the Zebra, "My stripes are all hot!" Giraffe shrieked from high, "We're losing the plot!" But Ellie stood firm, with a twinkle in sight, Her ears flapped like sails with incredible might! She scooped up the water from a small watering hole, And sprayed with her ears, taking masterful control. The flames flickered low, then sputtered and died, As Ellie poured water, with nothing to hide. Zebra and Giraffe cheered, "You saved us today! Your ears are amazing, hooray, hip hooray!" Ellie beamed wide, her heart bursting with pride, Her big, flappy ears she could no longer hide. "My ears aren't a burden, they're strong and they're true! They help all my friends, and that makes me new!" From that day in Africa, Ellie held high, Her big, floppy ears, beneath the bright sky. She learned that her difference, a gift to embrace, Her big, helpful ears put a smile on her face!
A tiny paw, a whiskered nose, Our kitten zipped, right off she goes! Down, down the street, a blur of grey, On Market Street, to run and play! A bustling street, a honking sound, With taxis yellow, all around! The shops lined up, a rainbow bright, A dizzying, dazzling, day-filled sight! Lily, the girl with eyes so green, Cried, "Mittens! Mittens! Where have you been?" A fluffy ball, of playful grace, Lost in the crowd, in such a place! A grumpy CAR, with lights so bold, Blinked at the kitten, brave and cold. "MEEP MEEP!" it hooted, loud and clear, "Get off the road, little one, have no fear!" Lily searched, with worried frown, Up and down, all over town! Past bakers' shops, with sugary treats, And shoe stores selling tiny cleats. She called and called, a plaintive plea, "Oh, Mittens, Mittens, come back to me!" Then, a tiny mew, a furry streak, From a flower box, quite mild and meek! Mittens jumped out, with purrs so sweet, And rubbed against Lily's tiny feet! Safe from the street, the cars, the fright, Held in Lily's arms, so warm and tight! Back home they went, to cozy bliss, A happy ending, sealed with a kiss! Mittens snuggled, safe and sound, The best adventure, homeward bound!
A rustling whisper, then a sigh, Leaves begin to fall from high. Crimson, gold, and sunset red, Dancing softly overhead. A forest path, all brown and gold, Where secrets of the autumn told. Sunbeams slant through branches bare, A crunchy carpet everywhere. Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf, and Brown, Tumbled gently to the ground. Squeaky, the Squirrel, eyes so bright, Saw a treasure in plain sight! The Wind, a playful, gusty friend, Made the leaves swirl round the bend. Squeaky chirped, "What fun we'll have! A cozy bed, a leafy stave!" He gathered reds and yellows bold, A leafy blanket, safe from cold. He stuffed them deep within his den, Again and again, and again, and then… The Wind whispered, "More leaves to share!" They floated down with graceful flair. Squeaky giggled, snug and warm, Safe and cozy from the storm. For Autumn, with a brush so grand, Painted magic on the land. A fiery show, a vibrant hue, With leaves that fall for me and you!
In coral castles, bright and bold, Where rainbow fishes twist and fold, A reef of wonder, deep and blue, Lived Mermaid, Starfish, Turtle, too! Mermaid hid a shell so grand, Beneath a mound of pearly sand. Its colours shimmered, sleek and bright, Concealed away from prying sight. Starfish wiggled, five arms a-sway, "Oh, Mermaid, tell me, what's today? And what's that shiny thing you keep, Hidden so well, in ocean sleep?" Mermaid giggled, fins a-flip, "A secret treasure, from a ship! Or maybe not, it's hard to say, I found it gleaming yesterday." Turtle lumbered, wise and slow, "Show Starfish, Mermaid, let him know! No secrets kept in ocean's heart, We share our treasures, every part!" Mermaid sighed, with playful grin, Dug up the shell, from deep within. She opened it, with gentle grace, A pearl of wonder, filled the space! Round and glowing, pure and white, It sparkled, bathed in ocean light. A mermaid's secret, now revealed, A pearl of beauty, unsealed!
In fields of flowers, colors bright, Where petals danced in pure delight, The rain clouds sighed, their tears all shed, And hid away, tucked in their bed. Then Rainbow peeked, a gentle arc, Across the sky, a vibrant spark! Red, orange, yellow, green, and blue, A painted promise, fresh and new. The Sun, a friend with golden face, Peeped through the clouds with warming grace. The Clouds, like sheep so fluffy white, Drifted slowly in the light. Rainbow stretched, a colorful band, Reaching down to flower land. He kissed the blooms with hues so bold, A story whispered, to be told. The Sun then chuckled, warm and free, "My turn to shine for all to see!" He chased the clouds far, far away, And painted gold on the brand new day. So Rainbow smiled, his work complete, A bridge of colors, oh so sweet. He faded softly, bit by bit, As Sunbeams danced, where shadows sit.
