In a palace of coral, so grand and so bright, Lived a mermaid with scales, shimmering light. Towers of seaweed, with pearls all around, In the deep blue ocean, happiness was found.
But she wished for a friend, a companion so true, Someone to share secrets, the ocean's deep blue. Her songs filled the water, a melody sweet, "Oh, find me a friend, my wish I repeat!"
Then shells with soft voices, began to chime in, "We'll help you, dear mermaid, let the searching begin!" Dolphins leaped playfully, their clicks filled the air, "We know all the creatures, beyond compare!"
They sang to the starfish, and tickled the whale, Helped seahorses tiny, untangle their tail. The mermaid dreamed sweetly of laughter and fun, A friend by her side, 'til the setting of sun.
One day, near a reef, where the anemones swayed, A small lost sea turtle, seemed frightened and dismayed. The mermaid so gently, calmed all its fears, And whispered kind words to dry away its tears.
They played hide-and-seek, in the kelp forest green, Sharing seaweed snacks, the best ever seen! The turtle then smiled, a happy, wide grin, "You're the best friend a turtle has ever taken in!"
The mermaid then knew, her wish had come true, A friend in the ocean, so kind and so new. No longer lonely, with laughter so bright, The mermaid and turtle, played day and through night!
