The African savanna wakes, a golden, rosy hue, Sunbeams paint the tall grass, kissed with morning dew. A symphony of chirps and trills begins to fill the air, But something’s wrong, something's off, a problem beyond compare!
Leo the Lion, king so grand, with mane a fiery crown, Tried to let out a mighty roar, but only a squeak came down! His face turned red, his whiskers twitched, his tail drooped to the ground, "Oh dear, oh dear," he whimpered low, "Where has my roar been found?"
Zebra the Zebra, stripes so bright, was grazing close at hand, She saw poor Leo's misery, and rushed to take a stand. "Don't fret, dear Leo," Zebra said, "A squeak won't do at all! Let's try some exercises, stand up straight and tall!"
She made him wiggle his big paws, and stretch his furry neck, She told him jokes, she sang him songs, to try to fill the wreck That was his voice. He tried to roar, a croak escaped his throat, Then coughed and sputtered, shook his head, and almost lost all hope.
"Imagine," Zebra whispered, "A juicy, giant steak! Imagine all the yummy food, you’re just about to take!" Leo closed his eyes and thought of meat, both tender, lean, and prime, He puffed his chest, he gathered strength, and gave it one more time!
A rumble started deep inside, a tremor shook the ground, The golden grass began to sway, no longer safe and sound. From Leo's throat, a mighty blast, a ROAR that shook the skies! The birds took flight, the monkeys shrieked, a wonderful surprise!
His roar returned! The savanna cheered, a joyful, vibrant sound, Leo the Lion, proud and strong, his mighty voice was found! He thanked his friend, the Zebra kind, and roared with all his might, A happy roar, a joyful roar, that filled the morning light.
