Lucky the puppy yawned so wide, In the backyard, nowhere to hide! The sun was bright, the grass was green, But fun and games were nowhere seen.
Lucky was bored, a floppy-eared sigh, Under the oak tree, way up high. A fluffy cat, with eyes so bright, Pounced from the fence, a welcome sight!
"Meow," said Cat, a flick of her tail, "This backyard's dull, a tiresome trail! Let's find adventure, beyond the gate, Before it gets too awfully late!"
So Lucky leaped, with a bark and a bound, And Cat led the way, without a sound. Through flowerbeds bright, and bushes so deep, Secrets to find, while squirrels were asleep!
They chased butterflies, a colourful blur, And startled a robin, with a happy stir. They climbed on the slide, with giggles so grand, Exploring new worlds, paw in paw, hand in hand!
They battled a hose, a watery fight, And discovered a snail, in the fading sunlight. They sniffed at the roses, a fragrant delight, Their adventure was perfect, from morning till night!
Then tired and happy, as dusk started to gleam, They tumbled back home, living the dream. Lucky the puppy, and Cat, his new friend, Their backyard adventure, had finally reached its end!
