Deep in the blue, where coral gleams bright, And fishes zoom past in streaks of pure light, Octavia the Octopus, with eyes round and wide, Felt awfully bored, with nowhere to hide.
She wiggled her arms, a restless display, "Oh, what shall I do on this tedious day?" Then, scuttling sideways, with shell hard and brown, She spotted a crab with a permanent frown!
It was Crabby McCrab, a grumble-pot king, Who snapped at the starfish and never would sing. Octavia giggled, a mischievous thought, A funny prank's needed, a lesson to be taught!
With tentacles swishing, she crept ever near, And tied Crabby's feet with a knot, oh dear! But quick as a wink, a strange thing occurred, Her tentacles stuck! It was utterly absurd!
"Oh, fiddle-dee-dee!" cried Crabby McCrab, "Now *I'm* stuck with *you*! What a terrible dab!" He tugged and he pulled, Octavia did too, But the knot held firm, what were they to do?
They wriggled and jiggled, a tangled-up pair, Their struggles were silly beyond compare. Then Crabby McCrab, with a sigh and a groan, Let out a small chuckle, quite unlike his own!
Octavia joined in, a bubbly soft sound, Their laughter it echoed all ocean around. The knot, feeling ticklish, decided to pop, And freed them both, with a little “plink” drop!
Crabby McCrab, with a smile, wide and new, Said, "Octavia, maybe pranks aren't for you! But laughing together, so silly and free, Is much more fun, as you now agree!"
