The African savanna wakes in gold, A sunrise paints a story told. Tall grasses shimmer, kissed by dew, A brand new day, for me and you!
Leo the Lion, proud and grand, King of the beasts in this sunny land. But oh dear me, a terrible plight, His mighty roar had vanished in the night!
He opened his mouth, to greet the day, But only a squeak came out to play! "Eek!" whispered Leo, eyes filled with dread, "Where has my ROAR gone? Is it lost in my head?"
Zebra the Zebra, striped and bold, Heard Leo's squeak, a story to unfold. "My friend," said Zebra, with a curious stare, "Why do you squeak? Is something not fair?"
Leo confessed, his mane a-droop, "My roar is gone, a vanishing loop! I try and I try, but only a peep, The king of the beasts, can't even keep… his… ROAR!"
Zebra thought hard, then blinked his eyes bright, "Let's find your roar, with all of our might! We'll start by tickling your tummy with glee, Perhaps a laugh will set your roar free!"
He tickled and tickled, from chin to tail, Leo chuckled softly, then let out a wail! "That's not my roar, it's just a giggle!" Zebra scratched his head, with a waggle and wiggle.
"Let's try shouting loudly at the setting sun! And see if your roar likes to come out and run!" They shouted and shouted, till their throats were sore, But still Leo’s roar stayed behind the door.
Then Zebra remembered, a wise old tale, Of a watering hole, where roars never fail. "The Echoing Springs," he cried with delight, "Let's go there, Leo, and roar with all our might!"
They reached the springs, clear, cool, and deep, Leo took a breath, ready for a leap. He roared, he strained, he pushed with all his force… A tiny squeak escaped, of course!
He hung his head low, filled with despair, When Zebra yelled, "Look! Look at the air!" Tiny ripples bounced back from the wall, Creating an echo, answering his call!
Leo stepped forward, filled with newfound hope, He roared once again, on a much wider scope! This time it echoed, louder and deep, And suddenly, Leo's promise to keep,
His mighty roar returned, with a rumble and boom, Chasing away shadows, dispelling all gloom! The savanna trembled, with a glorious sound, Leo's lost roar, finally found!
He roared with Zebra, under the sun, The king of the beasts, his reign had begun! And now every morning, you can surely say, Leo the Lion, roars loud every day!
