A scraped knee and a wobbly tear, Little Lily fell, oh so near! The schoolyard buzzed, a busy place, With swings that soared and smiles on each face.
Then whump! Down she went, a little tumble, Right beside the big oak tree, in a grassy grumble. Her best friend, Rose, with eyes so bright, Rushed to her side, a shining light.
"Are you okay?" Rose asked with care, Reaching a hand, "Don't you despair!" Lily sniffled, "My knee hurts bad," Rose helped her up, no longer sad.
Their teacher, Mrs. Bloom, with a smile so wide, Said, "Helping a friend is a wonderful tide! It lifts them up when they are down, And paints the world with a golden crown!"
Rose helped Lily walk to the nurse's station, A little wobble, a small hesitation. They shared a bandage, a giggle or two, And learned that day, friendships see you through.
The next day, Lily shared her crayons bright, With Tom, who'd forgotten his, what a sight! He smiled so big, his eyes all aglow, Helping a friend, made happiness grow.
So hand in hand, they skipped and they played, Remembering the kindness that Rose displayed. For in the schoolyard, under the sun so grand, Helping others brings happiness to the land!
