In a room quite grand and bright, With cushions plump and shining light, A rug so soft, a cozy space, Ready smiles on every face.
Dad sat down with book in hand, Ready for a twisted land, Of silly sounds and words so strange, "Get ready now, for tongue exchange!"
"She sells seashells by the seashore," Dad began, The children giggled, a silly clan. "Sally sells silly shells," they tried to say, But tangled tongues just went astray!
"Peter Piper picked a peck," Turned into "Pitter Pecker Neck!" The room erupted with a roar, They tumbled laughing on the floor.
"Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear," Became "Fussy Buzzy Hair!" Their tongues all twisted, tied in knots, Like spaghetti in cooking pots.
The harder they tried, the worse it grew, "The sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick too!" Words like marbles, slipped and slid, The silliest sounds were truly rid-!
Finally, Dad just couldn't speak, Tears of laughter streamed down his cheek! The children wheezed, their faces red, The silliest sounds they'd ever said!
With tangled tongues and happy sighs, Beneath the room's bright, shining skies, They learned that day, beyond all doubt, Laughter's the best thing to shout out!
