In shadows deep, where darkness sleeps, A dark alleyway, secrets it keeps. Bricks worn and old, a chilling breeze, Rustling leaves, beneath the trees. The moon, a sliver, hides its face, A spooky, scary, lonely place.
A scaredy cat, so sleek and black, With twitching ears and fur turned back, Lived in that alley, filled with fright, Afraid of day and even night.
A tiny mouse, with whiskers bold, Scurried near, a story to be told. A big, loud bark, a fearsome sound, A grumpy dog came pounding 'round!
Our scaredy cat, with fur on end, Knew he must help his little friend. Though fear he felt, deep in his heart, He knew he had to play his part.
He puffed his chest, he hissed and spat, "Leave him alone, you bully cat!" The dog surprised, stepped back in doubt, "What's this? A cat who dares to shout?"
He saw the cat's determined glare, A bravery shining in the air. The dog then whined, turned tail to flee, "I didn't mean to cause misery!"
The mouse squeaked thanks, his eyes so bright, "You saved me, cat, you won the fight!" The scaredy cat, he felt so grand, He'd found a courage close at hand.
The alley now, felt less so grim, He'd helped a friend, it bloomed within. No longer scared, but brave and true, A happy cat, a friend to you! The darkness hid, the fear took flight, Replaced with friendship's guiding light.
