The Elephant's Big Ears

In the heart of the savanna, sun ablaze, Where baobab trees stood in a golden haze, Lived Ellie the elephant, a gentle soul, Whose big, flappy ears made her heart feel a hole.

Zebra zoomed by, with stripes black and white, Giraffe stretched her neck to impossible height. Ellie sighed low, "Oh, my ears are so grand! The biggest in Africa, I can't understand!"

One sweltering day, a fire took hold, Burning the grasses, brave stories told. "Help!" cried the Zebra, "My stripes are all hot!" Giraffe shrieked from high, "We're losing the plot!"

But Ellie stood firm, with a twinkle in sight, Her ears flapped like sails with incredible might! She scooped up the water from a small watering hole, And sprayed with her ears, taking masterful control.

The flames flickered low, then sputtered and died, As Ellie poured water, with nothing to hide. Zebra and Giraffe cheered, "You saved us today! Your ears are amazing, hooray, hip hooray!"

Ellie beamed wide, her heart bursting with pride, Her big, flappy ears she could no longer hide. "My ears aren't a burden, they're strong and they're true! They help all my friends, and that makes me new!"

From that day in Africa, Ellie held high, Her big, floppy ears, beneath the bright sky. She learned that her difference, a gift to embrace, Her big, helpful ears put a smile on her face!
