A tiny paw, a whiskered nose, Our kitten zipped, right off she goes! Down, down the street, a blur of grey, On Market Street, to run and play!
A bustling street, a honking sound, With taxis yellow, all around! The shops lined up, a rainbow bright, A dizzying, dazzling, day-filled sight!
Lily, the girl with eyes so green, Cried, "Mittens! Mittens! Where have you been?" A fluffy ball, of playful grace, Lost in the crowd, in such a place!
A grumpy CAR, with lights so bold, Blinked at the kitten, brave and cold. "MEEP MEEP!" it hooted, loud and clear, "Get off the road, little one, have no fear!"
Lily searched, with worried frown, Up and down, all over town! Past bakers' shops, with sugary treats, And shoe stores selling tiny cleats.
She called and called, a plaintive plea, "Oh, Mittens, Mittens, come back to me!" Then, a tiny mew, a furry streak, From a flower box, quite mild and meek!
Mittens jumped out, with purrs so sweet, And rubbed against Lily's tiny feet! Safe from the street, the cars, the fright, Held in Lily's arms, so warm and tight!
Back home they went, to cozy bliss, A happy ending, sealed with a kiss! Mittens snuggled, safe and sound, The best adventure, homeward bound!
