In Savannah's sun-kissed land, so wide, Where golden grasses gently glide, Stood Gerald, the giraffe so tall, Eating leaves, answering nature’s call.
He munched and crunched with happy sighs, His long neck reaching for the skies. But the tastiest leaves, a juicy green, Were higher still, a leafy scene!
He stretched and strained, a wobbly sight, His spotted legs gripped ever so tight. He stretched some more, a mighty heave, "I'll reach those leaves, I must believe!"
A cheeky monkey, swinging near, Let out a giggle, loud and clear. "He'll never reach them, that's for sure!" But Gerald stretched just a little more!
He wiggled his nose, he wriggled his toes, He pushed with his might, goodness knows! And then, with a pop, a crack, a whoosh, He touched the leaves with a happy gush!
He ate and ate, his tummy full, No longer stretching, playing the fool. With a smile so wide, he looked around, The happiest giraffe the Savannah found!
