On Bumpy Street (A Friendship Poem)
A grocery bag, about to bust, Full of apples, jam, and crust! Little Lily struggled so, Down Bumpy Street, quite slow, slow, slow.
Then Maya, with a skip and hop, Came dancing by, right at the top Of Bumpy Street, all painted blue, With cracks and stones, a wobbly view.
"That bag looks heavy, Lily-Lou!" Maya cried, "What can I do?" Lily sighed, "It's awful, true! I'm going to drop it, boo-hoo-hoo!"
Maya smiled, "Don't you despair! A little help, we'll make it there! We'll share the weight, a helping hand, Across Bumpy Street, to your door, so grand!"
So Maya grabbed a handle tight, Lily grinned with pure delight. They marched along, with steady pace, Across Bumpy Street, a smiling race!
Over stones and painted cracks, They laughed and chatted, no turning backs. The bag felt lighter, spirits soared, To Lily's house, they were adored!
At Lily's door, the bag they set, A perfect team, you wouldn't forget. "Thank you, Maya, my very best friend!" "Together always," that's how we'll end!
