The air is freezing, sharp and bright, A frozen lake, a dazzling sight! Like glass it gleams, so smooth and wide, Where winter secrets gently hide.
Ice, a crystal, clear and grand, Invites us to this frozen land. With rosy cheeks and bundled tight, Come laughing kids, a joyful sight!
They lace their skates, a happy sound, On frozen water, safe and bound. A push, a glide, a wobbly start, Then swishing lines, a work of art!
They spin and twirl, a frosty dance, With happy shouts, a joyful chance. The ice replies with tinkling song, As all day long, they glide along.
A snowball fight, a frosty blast, The winter fun is holding fast. Then tired and cold, they homeward creep, Dreaming of ice while fast asleep.
The lake lies still, beneath the moon, A perfect end to afternoon. Happy Winter's Day, so bright and bold, A story on the ice, forever told!
