In fields of gold, where cornstalks rise, Beneath the sunny, summer skies, Stood Paddy, the Scarecrow, a funny old sight, With button eyes gleaming, ever so bright.
He wasn't brave, or terribly grand, Just stuffed with straw, throughout the land. His job was to shoo the birds away, But Paddy had a problem, day by day!
A-CHOO! A-CHOO! His sneeze would explode, Like fireworks bursting on the road! The birds would giggle, perched on his hat, “He tickles our feathers! Just listen to that!”
A-CHOO! A-CHOO! He’d bend at the waist, Straw flying about, in a terrible haste! He’d shake and he’d wobble, a comical dance, Giving the birdies a hilarious chance!
They’d peck at his buttons, and pull at his thread, “He’s sneezing so hard, he’ll fall on his head!” A-CHOO! A-CHOO! He couldn't control, This silly old sneeze that tickled his soul.
Then one sunny morning, a change came to be, The birds understood, and they all could agree. Paddy’s loud sneeze, it wasn't a threat, Just a funny old scarecrow, they couldn't forget!
So now they all gather, around his straw feet, Waiting for Paddy's next A-CHOO! so sweet! They bring him bright berries, and shiny blue twine, The Sneezy Scarecrow, now doing just fine!
