In a sunny forest, bright and grand, Where leafy carpets softly expand, Sunbeams danced a golden show, Upon the flowers down below.
A furry Squirrel, with eyes so keen, Searched everywhere, a worried scene. His precious acorn, round and brown, Had vanished from its hiding down!
"Oh dear, oh dear!" he squeaked with fright, "My yummy acorn's out of sight!" He scampered up a mossy tree, "Perhaps," he thought, "it's waiting for me!"
He saw wise Owl, perched on a limb, "Hoo-hoo," she called, "what makes you grim?" "My acorn's lost!" the Squirrel cried, "Can you help search, far and wide?"
Owl hooted softly, "I will try," And scanned the forest with her eye. She saw red Fox, slinking near, "Fox," she called, "come lend an ear!"
Fox trotted over, sly and quick, With whiskers twitching, doing a trick. "Lost something, have you, little friend?" He asked, pretending to be quite mend.
Squirrel explained, with tearful plea, "My acorn's gone, where could it be?" The three then searched with might and main, Through ferns and flowers, in sun and rain (just a little imaginary rain!).
Owl, with her sight, so sharp and true, Fox, with his nose, to sniff anew, Squirrel, frantic, digging around, Close to where a mushroom mound was found.
And then, a gasp! A joyful squeal! "I found it!" Squirrel started to feel So happy now, the search was done. Found it under leaves, beneath the sun!
