In a meadow, green and bright, Where sunbeams danced with elfin light, Lived a fairy, small and sweet, With tiny shoes and dancing feet.
But oh, the horror, wings so bare! A frantic search filled all the air. Her gossamer wings, so light and free, Vanished! Oh, where could they be?
A butterfly, with painted grace, Flew by with worry on its face. “Have you seen them, lost and low? My fairy wings, where did they go?”
A friendly flower, petals bright, Peeped out in morning's golden light. "Perhaps they're hiding, soft and deep, Where dewdrops cling and secrets sleep?"
The fairy tiptoed, small and shy, Beneath the trees that reached the sky. She spied a shimmer, silver-sheen, Beneath a leaf, a wondrous scene!
Her wings! Soaked through with morning dew, Sparkling gems of emerald hue! The dew had made them disappear, A magical trick, so very clear!
She shook them off with happy glee, Her wings restored, for all to see! The butterfly danced, the flower smiled, The fairy flew, a joyful child!
