In a sunny forest glade, all green and gold, Where sunbeams danced and stories were told, Lived Squirrel, with fur so fluffy and bright, Whose favorite nut had vanished from sight!
"Oh dear, oh dear!" cried Squirrel with a leap, "My yummy, crunchy nut, I cannot keep! It's gone, it's lost, where could it be now?" He puffed out his cheeks with a worried "Hoo-ow!"
Wise Owl, perched high on a branch so tall, Heard Squirrel's sad cries and answered his call. "Hoo-hoo! What's amiss, my furry friend?" "My nut!" wailed Squirrel, "My joy without end!"
Rabbit hopped by, with ears long and grand, And joined the search, throughout the green land. "We'll find it, dear Squirrel, don't you despair, We'll look in the bushes, and sniff in the air!"
They searched 'neath the toadstools, so red and so round, And peered in the burrows, all over the ground. Squirrel climbed the oak, then the maple so high, But the nut stayed hidden, way up in the sky... almost!
Then Rabbit, so quick, with a wiggle and hop, Spotted something brown, near a dandelion top! There, nestled sweetly, among petals so white, Was Squirrel's lost nut, bathed in golden sunlight!
Squirrel squealed with delight, a joyful sound, And leaped from the branch to the welcoming ground. He grabbed his dear nut, so precious and dear, And danced a small jig, erasing all fear!
Owl hooted with glee, "Hoo-ray, it is found!" Rabbit clapped his paws, all around and around. Squirrel munched his nut, with a happy, small sigh, Beneath the bright sun, in the clear blue sky.
